Value Hospitality Pvt Ltd (VHPL), Kamath Residency’s recently formed hospitality consulting division has launched its consultancy services in the Indian hospitality industry. The company primarily aims to provide consultancy for resorts, restaurants and convention centre projects.
It plans to focus on providing assistance to mid-sized projects for development within the Rs 3000 to Rs 3500 room rate bracket. Speaking about the company's interest in this segment, Gopal Kamath, Director, VHPL states, “There is a severe lack of offerings in this segment and price bracket. However, the demand in this category is huge; hence, it prompted us to encourage additional hospitality development in this segment. We can provide knowledge and expertise (in the hospitality industry) to owners planning to develop such projects.” Initially, the company will focus on projects within Maharashtra before venturing outside the state.
During phase two of development, the company also plans to offer hospitality management services to its consulting clients. This will lead to inorganic growth for the company, which already has resorts and restaurants under its portfolio.
VHPL has also developed a brand, Value Hotels, which it will propose to its clients for hotel branding. The company is open to projects under both, management and marketing contracts. For its own hospitality portfolio’s development, VHPL has found the potential to develop a resort project in Lonavala.
In November 2008, Kamath assisted in the development of a continental restaurant, Waves, at Riva Resort in Goa. “Consulting is essential for new players, who foray into the hospitality industry as it prohibits wastage of time and money. It also helps clients to save on project cost and ensure efficient hotel planning, with features like adequate room size,” he adds. The company also plans to offer facility management services to its clients.
